HOTEL RÅDHUSET PROTECTS THE ENVIRONMENT

Hotell Rådhuset is a relatively small hotel, which means that all staff at the hotel handle reception, breakfast and cleaning of all hotel rooms and public areas. Our small scale means that we get a good overview of our impact on the environment and are constantly working on improvement measures.

Our goal is to have as little food waste as possible and therefore we make sure to adapt the breakfast to the number of guests. We make sandwiches from the leftover bread and spreads from breakfast, which are stored in a refrigerator in the common room. All guests can have a sandwich completely free of charge when they are craving some evening coffee. An appreciated added value from our hotel guests. For us, it is important that we always use environmentally friendly cleaning products when we clean all surfaces. We have also reduced the cleaning for guests who stay with us for several nights, now they can tell us in advance if they want extra cleaning. All dirty laundry is picked up by a local laundry, which in turn washes with environmentally friendly products. We are part-owners of a wind farm and all the electricity we buy is environmentally certified and renewable. For us, it is important that all rooms in the hotel have energy-efficient lamps. Waste sorting is at least as important and we have therefore chosen to sort glass, plastic, metal, batteries, etc. We are careful with our purchases and the volumes we order. All our staff live in the local area and we always try to recruit staff locally as a priority.
